Transactions with a Pending Submission status are recent corporate card transactions or holds that have not yet been fully processed by the merchant. For complete details on transaction statuses, see Understanding Transaction Types in SVB T&E.
To view pending transactions, click the Personal tab in the upper left corner, then click Transactions. By default, the screen will open with transactions filtered by Pending Submission status.
Pending transactions cannot be submitted for approval until the merchant processes the transaction. These will have a Queue button in the Action column instead of a Submit button.
If a merchant does not end up charging you, they will release the transaction and it will be eliminated from your account.
If there is a pending transaction on your card that needs to be released, the best practice is to ask the merchant to release the pending transaction—your bank cannot release pending transactions.
*Please Note: Some merchants can take 3-5 business days to release transactions. If the merchant doesn't release the transaction, the pending transaction will be released automatically after 30 days.
Edit Pending Transactions
You may edit the details of a pending transaction and then queue it so that the expense will be submitted automatically once the charges are posted. You may also edit the transaction while it is queued.
1. Click on the transaction you wish to edit.
2. On the Edit Expense Details screen, make the desired changes and then click Queue.
Save Pending Transactions As Drafts
If you are not ready to submit a pending transaction to be queued, you may choose to edit and save it as a draft to submit later. This allows you to add such information as a note or a business purpose without having to submit the transaction immediately.
*Please Note: The Save Draft option will not appear for Queued expenses; however, you may edit and save changes for Queued expenses.
1. Click on the transaction you wish to edit.
2. On the Edit Expense Details screen, make the desired changes, and then click Save Draft or, if the transaction is ready, Submit.
*Please Note: Splitting is not supported for draft transactions. Once a transaction is split, it will need to be submitted.
